CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®
He remembers being referred to as “the shy one” growing up. Perhaps he was. Being the third of four boys, some might say it was a classic case of middle-child syndrome. In any case, it made growing up on a farm pretty much perfect – lots of space and a real sense of freedom. He loved it. He reckons Mum appreciated the space too, having four boys.
He finished school in the country then moved to the city and completed a degree in science but began to develop a strong interest in finance.
His first full-time job was in a Perth-based business that was pioneering a new administration service to support financial planners and their clients. It inspired him to complete post-graduate studies in financial planning. He wanted to learn more about how he could improve his own financial life and ultimately the lives of others. He learned that in essence, financial planning is about helping people to meet their life goals through the proper management of their money. Now, after more than 20 years of financial planning, he have since learned that some life goals are common to all of them and that
money is just a tool to help achieve them.
Reflecting back on his childhood – the sense of freedom and space that he felt – He now knows that money is just a means to that end. It is a passion and a privilege to help others in their journey.

Paul is known to have a passion for helping people achieve their goals. He knows that many people have untapped assets that could be working for them, but are unsure how they can make the changes needed to use those assets to further grow their wealth.
They may have equity in a home and excess cash, but wonder if they should focus on paying off their mortgage, invest in shares, buy an investment property, set up an interest offset account – or a combination of all of these. Paul understands how making the right choice can impact the lifestyles of his clients now, and in the future.
He adopts a personal approach to his financial advisory services. Paul begins by ensuring he has a clear understanding of each client’s current position, clarifying their financial and lifestyle goals, identifying where opportunities lie and putting in place strategies to achieve those goals.
As well as having experience in the accounting and financial advisory areas, Paul is well credentialed. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting) from Edith Cowen University in 1990. He achieved his CPA in Accounting from Deakin University in 1997. He furthered his studies at the University of Western Sydney, becoming a qualified Certified Financial Planner, Financial Planning and Services in 1999.

Beverly Harvey Certified Financial Planner
Beverly Harvey began her career working with Social Security/Centrelink delivering support to people in need in a regional office. This identified a natural interest in helping and supporting people whilst they were dealing with their own personal struggles. With an inclination for methodology and problem solving it was an organic transition to commence working in financial planning. This transition was supported by the achievement of a Bachelor of Business and cemented by the rigorous study as a Certified Financial Planner and now 11 years working in the profession.
Why Financial Planning for you?
It is an exciting new direction for professionals to take and the opportunity to help ordinary Australians navigate the complexity of a changing financial landscape is a source of pride. To be able to share in people’s dreams and aspirations, analyse and demonstrate the pathways to make this successful and the finally see the ultimate purpose come to fruition is very rewarding. It can be difficult to be an expert in everything and still have time for yourself and the things that matter, – that is where I would like to step in.
It surprised me some years ago to realise that our profession is still very young in contrast to other more well-known and established advice experts. I look forward to being a part of the growing evolution of advice services that is for and about the clients that it was created for. This includes building confidence that we are here to deliver on our core values of putting our clients first, acting with integrity, providing our services objectively and with fairness.
