He started in the finance industry back in 1987 as a life and general agent at AMP—following in the footsteps of his forefathers. Since those early days, He has worked in many roles, including general agency manager. Over the years, he gained more experience and qualifications, eventually starting his own business and becoming fully settled into the role of a financial planner. He merged his business to become part of the All Financial Services group in 1999 and strongly believe in their vision to improve the quality of people’s lives through a living financial plan.
He feels it is important for people to seek advice from a financial planner so they can have a realistic understanding of what the future holds for them. With the right advice, they are able to make informed choices about their future. It’s also important families are financially protected with a plan in place in case something goes wrong.
His life experiences enable him to have a deeper understanding of the issues people face. He understands the pressures of being self-employed and know full well the fear of retirement. The question He is asked most is “Does he has enough money and will it last?” He will listen to your concerns, uncover what’s important, discuss solutions and empower your to make decisions when the time is right.
Being involved in focus groups and committees allow him to give back to our profession and the business community. He is proud to be the Vice President (Finance) at the Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce, an executive committee member of the Authorised Representatives Association and of the AMP Advice Review panel.

She spent several years working for Westpac in various branch positions yet in search of a greater challenge took on a secondment with subsidiary company, Westpac Financial Consultants. As Branch Liaison and Client Conservation Manager she was afforded the opportunity to work with a variety of Financial Planners and their clients. It was extremely diversified and a demanding role, and brought with it both challenge and great reward. Most importantly however, it provided her with an insight into the role of an Adviser and how they assisted people to achieve their lifestyle goals.
She continued to work with Westpac’s Financial Planning team for several years with a focus on fostering strong relationships between its advisers, staff and clients. She also became an insurance trainer before deciding to do something completely left field – She moved to Darwin.
Having holidayed in the Northern Territory several times, She always thought it was a fabulous place so she took the plunge and relocated. That was some 23 years ago – so she likes to think she can now call myself a local. Not long after arriving she secured a position with a small Financial Planning firm where she worked in administration and assisted with insurance client reviews. She then went on to work for another firm and became a licensed Financial Adviser, specialising in wealth protection.
She joined Praescius in January 2011 initially as their Specialist Risk Adviser, but have since put the rest of her knowledge and training to work and now provide holistic financial advice. Whilst she enjoys delivering advice around how clients can best protect themselves in times of challenge – be it individuals, family or business owners – being able to assist her clients with all of their needs at each stage of life, is both fulfilling and rewarding.
She is a member of the Association of Financial Advisers, have a Diploma in Financial Planning and she is currently completing her Advanced Diploma.
She loves to spend her ‘down time’ with family and friends and have a passion for cooking and love to travel – with many places still on her bucket list!

Susie has been helping families, managers and business owners with their personal financial planning needs since 2001. Over that time she’s worked with many clients from different backgrounds and has as a result, worked on many different financial planning challenges. Today this experience makes Susie a trusted source of advice to her clients. She helps clients reach their goals reliably and consistently through well researched advice and effective implementation.
Susie left the financial planning partnership she was with to start her own practice – Advanced Financial Planning Solutions.
“It’s true that I’ve worked with many kinds of clients, but the conclusion for myself that I’ve come to is that financial planning just shouldn’t be for the ultra rich. You can in fact make more of a difference to the life of a family or a business owner than you can with those kinds of clients. That’s what I want to do with my knowledge and time. I want to make a positive difference to real people’s lives by providing them with really good financial planning advice. That’s why I felt I had to launch Advanced Financial Planning Solutions”, says Susie.
Susie’s expertise extends over a number of financial planning areas that affect families, managers and business owners. This expertise includes Debt and mortgage reduction advice, Saving and investment advice, Family insurance protection advice, Superannuation and retirement advice, and Estate planning advice.
Susie holds the Certified Financial Planner®, which is the highest designation for financial planners in Australia and worldwide. Susie also completed a Diploma of Financial Planning and a Master of Financial Planning, Finances and Financial Management Services. Susie is also active in the financial planning profession too, being the FPA Chapter Chair in Darwin since 2011.
Despite holding these qualifications and experiences, Susie remains very down to earth and takes a genuinely caring interest in helping her clients sort out and then make the most of their financial lives. Susie was a client herself before becoming a financial planner. At the time she was working casually in her first career as a registered nurse and she and her husband had 2 small children. Like all young families, money was very very tight. If you’re looking for caring, experienced and qualified financial planner to help you build a family financial plan, or a trusted adviser for your business; then Susie looks forward to meeting you.
